Is Manifestation Giving You False Hope
Manifestation and the Law of Attraction have become such popular topics and are definitely becoming more widespread among all walks of life. It’s very likely that you’ve seen the words written somewhere, besides this blog post, quite a few times now.
If you have no idea what the concept is or have never heard of such things, feel free to head to this blog post here for a more detailed description.
For some people, the idea of writing things down (or speaking them enough) will magically make your wildest dreams come true - seems completely unrealistic. And I can definitely see why. It’s hard to comprehend why the way you speak or write about what you wants has such an affect on how it actually unfolds.
There are many ways to look at the nitty gritty of manifesting. The base concept is if you ask the Universe for what you want, she in turn listens and gives it to you (with some effort from you of course). Another way to view manifesting is similar to the concept of a vision board. When you have your mind set on exactly what you want, you subconsciously make the necessary steps to effectively get to where you want to be. Either way you view it, it’s a powerful concept - whether you’re a believer or skeptic.
I wanna talk about something that I toyed with when I first started believing in the Law of Attraction.
In the beginning I would ask the Universe for things and expect them immediately. I thought I could literally just write something down in a journal, forget about it for months and the thing would pop up in due time. Well, when things weren't happening and I wasn’t living my life sipping margs on the beach in Hawaii as my day job, I immediately questioned the whole concept and began to discredit it.
In my eyes, manifestation and the LOA were giving me false hope! All these gurus and woo-woos were telling me I could have anything I want if I just wrote it down and believed that was what I wanted. WTF am I doing wrong here?
I’m sure a lot of people can relate to the above experience. As a matter of fact, I know that a lot of you can relate!
There are a couple of things that I have learned along my manifestation journey. Things that have definitely calmed my nerves about what I want coming to my life.
Patience is a virtue.
As someone who is naturally impatient, I was expecting things to happen pretty much after closing the cover of my journal. If I wanted it the Universe would give it to me, right? Not entirely.
The Universe isn't on your schedule. She’s on her own divine time that is already written out for you. She knows when you’re ready for what you are asking for and she can see when you’ve put in the work. Be patient with both yourself and the Universe.
You have to do something.
Sitting around and waiting for something to happen for you without any effort is absolutely ludicrous. How was I expecting to be sippin margs when I wasn’t doing a damn thing to get there? Your actions are still required to get to your end goals.
Nothing happens when you sit on your ass and wait for things to come your way. Do what feels right to get to where you’re wanting to be.
Believing is a must.
If you’ve written (or spoken) about some mystical life that you’re wanting to manifest into reality, you have to actually believe it. You have to believe in this vision so hard that you can already feel yourself living in it.
Happiness will not come WHEN YOU GET THERE. Happiness needs to come from what you already have because you TRUST that what you’re manifesting is coming.
Do I think that manifestation is just a recipe for false hope? Absolutely not.
I believe that all success with this concept stems from our actions and beliefs. With the right amount of faith and effort, literally anything is possible. This concept has proven it ten fold.
What are your thoughts on manifestation? Have you tried it for yourself?
