My Secret Weapon For Designing Pins That Make You Click
You obviously clicked on this blog post for a reason, right?
If you’re coming from Pinterest, it may have been the catchy title. But more than likely you were attracted to this post initially because of the design of the pin. Maybe it was the color combo or the design elements but whatever it was, it got you here!
If you’re a creative entrepreneur who is trying to build a business, you may want to keep reading to find out my secret weapon of choice for getting people to click through to my site.
What is this secret weapon?
The answer is so simple.
CANVA
Canva is my favorite tool for creating uniquely designed pins that you won’t see anywhere else. Also, it’s free!
In the very beginning of my blogging journey, I was glued to Photoshop. I spent hours learning new tricks and trying to create pins that were beautiful and well put together. While I do love Photoshop dearly, I discovered that making pins through Canva cut my design time drastically. It also made the process way more simple! WIN-WIN!
Canva is incredibly user friendly, making the most amateur graphic designer feel like a pro.
I love that I can log on and get multiple images made for one blog post within minutes.
How I make it work for me
I have a couple techniques that I use regularly with Canva.
For starters, I have 10 pre-made templates that I use on a regular basis. The templates make it easy for me to change the text of each pin and throw a new stock image right in.
Canva has a BUNCH of stock images that are free to use with your Canva Pro membership. Although these are free with your membership, please be respectful in not reselling or claiming them as your own.
Another cool thing about Canva is that you can create different design files. So I have a file with all of my normal 600 x 900 pixel pin templates and another with my small square thumbnail images. This keeps everything super organized and makes my life even that much easier.
I thought you said it was free?
Well, Canva is free to use! You will have limited features and images, but it is free.
I have the Canva Pro monthly membership. This means I pay $12.95 for unlimited stock images and fonts - a great deal!
If you would rather pay for a whole year in advance, they reduce the price to $9.95 a month, or $119.40 a year.
You really do get what you pay for though. This site is absolutely amazing and has made my life so easy.
There are a million other things that need my attention in regards to my blogging life. Spending copious amounts of time on graphic designs for my pins and site needed to become a thing of the past!
This app has saved my life when it comes to creating stunning designs that don’t take up too much time (& definitely don’t break the bank!)
Canva is a true god send for anyone in the blogging world.
