My own work of art

Happy Monday!

I'm very excited about this week's quote because it comes from one of the most unique people I've ever laid eyes on. And she makes some beyond catchy music. It's Madonna's week to shine here on Bohemian Crossroads!

While some of her songs are filled with inspiring phrases, this particular quote comes from an interview she did. Yes, she actually speaks as much wisdom as she sings!

If that isn't the cutest way to think of yourself, then I don't know what is. This quote is awesome to me because I'm a firm believer in you can be and you can do anything you want in life. We can mold ourselves into the person we dream to be!

I'm not promoting pretending to be someone you're not. That's the last thing I would advise you to do. I am, however, letting you know that we are all works in progress and can achieve anything we set our minds to.

For one example, in high school I had a very negative mindset. I thought poorly about myself, about other people and about a lot of the world in general.  I hated that about myself. This world is amazing, how could I let these negative thoughts rule my day to day life? Shortly after I graduated I had it in my mind that I wanted to think positively and see the cup half full, so to speak.

For months I replaced each cynical thought with one affirmative thought. As time went by, I no longer had to train myself to think positively. It just started to become a more natural process for me. This experience supports this quote so much in my eyes.

Sometimes we don't necessarily need to change ourselves, but improve upon who we already are. I, as an individual, am a unique art piece. A work in progress. A forever growing, forever learning young woman.
