The time has come. It's Sunday night. You have work the next morning. You're consistently checking the clock to see how much more time you left until you need to wind down and check out for the night.
Any working girl's worst nightmare is the bedtime hour of a Sunday night before a full workweek ahead. I know that I am not alone here, ladies. Don't pretend like you don't dread it!
One of my least favorite things about my job was the act of getting up and doing the same thing day-in and day-out for a company that didn't do much of anything for me. Although I am still with the same company, my mindset shift has changed the entire experience for me every day.
When you've got a case of the Sunday night blues, there are definitely some things that you can do to lighten the mood and give yourself a little boost for the week.
Change your language.
This one is crucial. When you spend your time saying things like "I really don't want to go to work tomorrow." or "I can't believe it's already going to be Monday again." OF COURSE your weeks are going to start off rocky. You're literally entering the week with that type of intention.
When you change the way you speak about your work, your mindset will change over time. It's basically one big game of tricking yourself into liking work. Weird, right?
Instead of starting the week with dread, try saying things like "I GET to go to work tomorrow." "I GET to go make money to supply myself and my family with abundance." Say things that are positive and uplifting. Things that give you a sense of purpose and a bigger meaning. They may feel like complete lies at first, but stick with it and your '“lies” will begin to feel more natural.
Set positive intentions.
This is a continuation of the above tip. Start your week with a positive intention. Give your workweek meaning and purpose. What are you going to get done this week that will make you feel like a true goddess come Friday?
"I am living this week doing the best that I can."
"I am going to have a great week filled with purpose and drive."
"I am going to create something magical for myself this week."
Just manifest an intention that feels powerful and worthy to you. What do you want to get done each week?
Live in the moment.
A powerful lesson, to say the least. This is one that I've struggled with and have talked about it many posts!
Living in the moment is not easy for a lot of us. In regards to the Sunday blues, we have a tendency to be so focused on our countdown that it actually makes us feel like time is going by that much quicker. We're pushing ourselves further into the future by keeping our focus there.
We're literally manifesting the day to zoom by and push us straight into Monday morning.
So on Sundays when you're feeling dreadful, try living life in the moment. Don't look at the clock as much. Don't worry about all that needs to be done during the week. Just focus on what feels good in that moment and experience life for everything that it is on that perfect Sunday afternoon.
Sundays will rarely be a favorite day of the week, but it doesn't have to be the most dreaded one. Poor Sunday didn't do anything to you! Ha ha.
Moral of the post, live life in the moment and change the way you view a Sunday. Look at this day as a day to prepare for an amazing week filled with so much greatness and magic. This Sunday is the gate keeper to all that is beautiful and coming your way!
How do you spend your sunday nights?
